At the end of May, the interns had the incredible opportunity of visiting Bombardier’s new jet manufacturing facility in Mississauga. Located on the northeastern corner of Pearson airport, the Global Manufacturing Centre is where Bombardier assembles its Global 6500 and Global 7500 aircraft. Director of Operations Michael Murphy and Senior Director External Affairs and Public Relations Sandra Buckler led the interns down the production line, where we saw jets in various stages of completion. We even got to step inside one of the completed aircraft, which will be flown to Montreal for furnishing.

All along the way, we learned about the history of this Canadian company and the supply chains it relies on to produce state of the art aircraft that combine safety with speed and reliability. We also learned how these aircraft can be repurposed for defense purposes.

The interns would like to extend our sincerest thanks to Sanda, Michael, and the rest of the Bombardier team for hosting us at the Global Manufacturing Centre.

We greatly appreciate your longstanding support of the programme and are grateful for amazing opportunities such as this. We could not think of a better way to finish off our year in the programme!
