We recently had the pleasure of travelling to the AMAPCEO office to meet with David Bulmer, President of AMAPCEO, Cynthia Watt, Vice-President of AMAPCEO, Grant Burns, Strategic Advisor, and Ben Rossiter, Team Lead, Labour Relations Bargaining and noted OLIP alumnus. AMAPCEO, also known as Ontario’s Professional Employees, is a non-partisan union that represents over 15,000 professional employees in Ontario’s public service.
Our gracious hosts discussed their experience working with government and the role unions play in a constantly evolving workplace. We gained valuable insight into how the perception of unions has evolved in Ontario and the role AMAPCEO hopes to play moving forward. What we all understood was the passion each of our hosts holds for helping individuals. They explained how collective bargaining represents only a part of the role they play as executives with AMAPCEO, with other time spent advocating for and assisting individuals on a day-to-day basis. Each of our hosts was empathetic to the challenges their members faced and passionate about the work they did and the change they created.
AMAPCEO has been a proud partner of OLIP for over sixteen years and we could not be more thankful for their hospitality and continued support.
