Recently, the OLIP Interns had the opportunity to sit down with representatives from our partner the Ontario English Catholic Teachers' Association (OECTA) to discuss different aspects of education in Ontario. This meeting offered insights into the challenges that educators in Catholic schools across the province face.
The Ontario English Catholic Teachers' Association advocates for the rights and professional interests of teachers in Ontario's publicly funded Catholic schools. With a membership of over 45,000, OECTA plays a crucial role in negotiating contracts, ensuring professional development, and supporting teachers in their roles. Their mission is to promote and advance the cause of Catholic education while ensuring the welfare and dignity of their members.
Thank you, Filomena Ferraro, Peter MacDonald, and OECTA for meeting with us and for your support of OLIP!
