For my spring placement, I have the privilege of working with the second longest-serving current Member of the Legislature, MPP Ernie Hardeman, who represents Oxford. A former minister in three premiers’ cabinets, he is one of most experienced MPPs, and is currently the Chair of the Standing Committee on Finance and Economic Affairs. Through my interactions with MPP Hardeman at Queen’s Park and his constituency office, I quickly realized that he is a widely respected Member. During my visit to Oxford, his longevity in the community was evident, and I even witnessed several of his constituents stopping him on the street and asking to catch up over coffee. I am grateful to Mr. Hardeman and his team for their guidance, and I look forward to continuing to assist them with their day-to-day tasks.
