I am honoured to work with MPP Ted Hsu, who represents Kingston and the Islands, for my Fall MPP Placement. A former federal Liberal MP, MPP Hsu is the Critic for four Ministries: Energy, Mines, Natural Resources and Forestry, and Citizenship and Multiculturalism. He is also a member of the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs.
I have been conducting research to assist MPP Hsu in his Critic roles. I have also attended meetings with external stakeholders and assisted Ben, his Legislative Assistant, with his office duties. MPP Hsu sees his riding as “a place where history and innovation thrive.” I have had the privilege of traveling to MPP Hsu’s new constituency office in Kingston and meeting his constituents in the “Limestone City.” Working in the constituency and meeting with MPP Hsu’s constituents truly gave a new meaning to the work we do every day.
I’m grateful to witness MPP Hsu’s daily commitment to serving his community and voicing Ontarians’ concerns at Queen’s Park. I would like to thank MPP Hsu and his team for their mentorship and this learning opportunity.
