Misha Apel was born in Hamilton, Ontario to a family of immigrants from the former Soviet Union. She graduated from Western University with an Honours Bachelor of Arts, double majoring at the School for Advanced Studies in Arts and Humanities in English Language and Literature with a minor in Transitional Justice and Post-Conflict Reconstruction. Throughout university, Misha was involved in her faculty’s students’ council and sat as its President in her final year. She was lucky to study abroad in Rwanda, Switzerland and Israel. In May 2019, Misha acted as a teaching assistant in Rwanda, examining the country’s post-conflict reconstruction efforts. Misha has deferred her acceptance to Western Law to pursue OLIP, and hopes that she can bridge her interests in law, politics and advocacy in her future.

Misha Apel est née à Hamilton en Ontario dans une famille venue de l’ancienne Union soviétique. Elle a obtenu un baccalauréat ès arts spécialisé de l’Université Western ainsi qu’une double spécialisation en langue et littérature anglaise, et en justice transitionnelle et reconstruction post-conflit à l’École d’études supérieures en arts et en sciences humaines. Au cours de ses études universitaires, Misha a siégé à l’Association étudiante de sa faculté et en a été présidente au cours de sa dernière année. Elle a aussi eu la chance d’étudier au Rwanda, en Suisse et en Israël. En mai 2019, Misha a occupé le poste d’assistante à l’enseignement au Rwanda dans le cadre d’un examen des efforts de reconstruction post-conflit dans ce pays. Misha a reporté son admission à la faculté de droit de l’Université Western afin de participer au PSALO en espérant pouvoir un jour concilier ses intérêts pour le droit, la politique et la promotion des droits.
